Motor Claims

Motor Claims often provide opportunity for significant saving if they are investigated promptly. It is sometimes the case that an otherwise reasonable claimant will become unreasonable if there are delays in the handling of the claim. These delays can sometimes occur because the liability position between the parties is unclear.

In the case of more serious accidents it is often clear from the initial reports that a claim is likely. There may be a number of parties to the accident and the incident may have been investigated by the Gardai (Irish Police Force).

In a typical case we will attend at the scene with the driver and take a detailed statement. Road measurements and photographs will also be taken where practical. In more serious cases other witnesses may need to be interviewed. Please refer to our services page.

A far more detailed understanding of what we do can be gained from our more generalised article of the Role of the Claims Investigator

Find Details of Stopping Distances for cars (automobiles) here as well as a useful page on the rules of overtaking in Ireland. We have looked at the Rules for Motorway Driving. Motor Injury Claims must now be submitted in the first instance to PIAB and are also subject to the Courts Act 2004
