Training Services

There is a renewed focus on training since the introduction of stricter CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirements by the Financial Regulator. The Mediation Directive and other changes mean that very serious efforts are no required to ensure that claims staff at all levels are very up to date in their knowledge of requirements and of the technical aspects of their work.

At Higgins Claims Services we believe that training can be:

  • Interesting
  • Fulfilling
  • Informative
  • Stimulating
  • Challenging

All of this can be done while ensuring that key training objectives are met. We also make sure that our training meets the regulatory standards required.

John Higgins is an ACII and Chartered Insurer. He has been involved in the review of Course Materials and Text Books for the Insurance Institute. He has also been a tutor for more than 15 years with some notable successes. He has lectured to specialist staff in the past and has recently been involved in Professional Briefings as part of a series organised by the Insurance Institute of Ireland.

The talk entitled “Claims: A New Era” was very well received. It covers a wide ranging overview of the massive legislative and procedural changes that have taken place in claims in recent years. This talk runs for 2 hours and is suitable for experienced to expert handlers. It could be adapted to meet the needs of newer entrants.

John has also had articles published about PIAB, the Courts Acts and Health and Safety Legislation and would be happy to talk on those or other claims related subjects. If it is a Claims or Insurance topic we can talk about it and we can make it interesting! Please contact John at 087 6957888 to discuss or email  by clicking this link.
