Time Limits

  • Claimant has 2 years to make a claim.
  • Respondent has 90 days to consent or not to the PIAB making an assessment
  • PIAB has a duty under the Act to make Assessments without delay and in most cases within 9 months
  • Respondent has 21 days to accept the award
  • Claimant has 28 days to accept the award

If either party rejects the award 6 months is added to the time that remained under the statute at the start
